About the Webmaster
Hi! I'm Tim Brehaut, your host at HyperMusic -- History. Since I'm the one responsible for the creation, growth, and maintenance of this web site, I take all the credit (and blame!) for this site. If you have any suggestions, comments, or complaints, please don't hesitate to contact me.
I'm currently (2002) a teacher in Red Deer (Alberta, Canada) with the
Red Deer Catholic Regional Division. I've just finished my second year at Camille J. Lerouge school where I teach grade 6-9 band, math, and computer tech classes. For three years previous to Ecole Camille, I was at St. Matthew School in Rocky Mountain House where I taught all the music classes from grade 1 to grade 12 (yeah, all of them!). Prior to teaching in Rocky, I taught in Slave Lake (also Alberta) for three years. While there I taught music, computers, math and a few other subjects.
I'm currently active as a performer and clinician in the area. My primary instrument is the bass trombone which I play with the Red Deer College Symphonic Winds and Jazz Band and in local musicals. I also teach low brass at Red Deer College. Other instruments I claim to have some proficiency on are baritone, tuba, percussion (incl. drums), and electric bass. As a band director I can also make a noise (ie. scales) on most band instruments. See below for other groups and performing experience.
For two years, I was also a board member for the Alberta Band Association (ABA), one of the charter members of Music Alberta. The ABA acts as the official voice for band in the province of Alberta, speaking for its membership in every facet of the band world.
