Buddy Rich
(1917-1987)
Buddy Rich, drummer and bandleader, entered the entertainment business at a young age, appearing in his parent's vaudeville act at age 2. He played drums and tap-danced on Broadway at age 4, and at age 11 he was leading his own band. Throughout his career, he played with a number of big bands. In 1966 he formed his own very successful big band.
